PCOs query
i have very recently been diagnosed with PCOs but my fasting insulin levels are normal. what else couls cause it? is weight gain a symptom even if my insulin is normal? (i've been on a permanent diet for months and put on a lot of weight every time i try to treat myself). does it affect libido because i find that i have a lot of trouble responding emotionally to men. i finished my roacutan course about 2 months ago and my skin is still breaking out....will this stop? i have been prescribed some drug to induce periods, will this also eliminate the other symptoms i'm experiencing?

Abnormal insulin levels are not there in every case of PCOS. The acmne, weight gain and irregular periods certainly go with that diagnosis. You are probably not producing hormones normally, so this can influence libido. You don't say what drug you have been prescribed, so I cannot comment on what it would do.
