please explain the terminology
Recently went for a STD test re Herpes 2 after my fiance revealed that he has been a sufferer
for the past 15 yrs. My IMG is positive and IMG is negative so I have been advised to go for another test in 8 weeks time. What is IMN and IMG? I am displaying no symptoms of blisters and have experienced no pain. If I contracted this disease would I DEFINATELY know about it?

This is a confusing result. IgM usually indicates acute infection and IgG previous infection. These are different antibodies that are produced in response to the herpes infection. It doesn't make sense for the IgM to be positive and the IgG to be negative. You should probably have the test repeated. You can have an aymptomatic exposure.
