Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
My gynae has diagnosed me with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. He prescribed Ginette. What is it exactly? What caused it? How long does it normally take for the pills to work as I have been taking the Ginette for my acne for 2 years now. And what are my changes with regard to pregnancies/miscarriages & infertility? It was my first gynae visit so I was more nervous about the internal exam and forgot to ask! Please help, Thanks.
Ginette is not a cure for PCOS. It merely treats the symptoms. The PCOS remains and can thus be diagnosed on scan. Many, but not all, women with PCOS do not ovulate and this would interefere with fertility. When you decide to plan a pregnancy, you may need help to get you to ovulate.
