thyroid problems during pregnancy
My friend had discovered that she is 6 weeks pregnant. Before the pregnancy she suffered from an active thyroid gland. Now she has a under-active thyroid gland. How will this effect the pregnancy and the baby? What can she do during the pregnancy?

As long as she takes medication to keep her thyroid levels normal, the pregnancy should not be affected. It would also be important to know the cause for the thyroid problem, as some are heriditary.

Best wishes
