triphasil makes you moody?

dear gynaedoc,

i've been on triphasil for just over a year now. before this i was on nuristrate, which didn't agree with me at all - i used to have 10day periods!

anyway, since i've been on triphasil i've been having these horrific mood swings just before and during my period. i feel so depressed and angry and i'm an absolute beast to my boyfriend. he's aware of this problem and is understanding but who wants to put up with this every month!! is this one of the side effects of the pill? if so, should i perhaps consider changing to a different brand? i've heard that triphasil is the strongest and i'm happy with it's protection other than this problem that i'm having.

It is one of the side effects of the Pill. I would suggest changing to another brand like Femodene.
