Will the ontraceptive pill help?
Hi doc

I am so tired of all of the mood swings, irregular periods, hairyness (I know I have to accept it and move on !) and inability to lose weight.
I have been on a very strict low GI diet, I exercise four -five times a week, avoid sugar etc, but am not any getting better.

It is now so bad that I cant sleep and feel depressed most of the time.
I havent been on any contraception for the last three years, and was wondering if there isnt a pill that can regulate me, my period and my hormonal moodswings?

PLEASE advise!

Regards

The Pilll is certainly useful in regulating periods if you have PCOS. If you are also insulin resistant, metformin may help.

Best wishes
