Womb infection
Hi Doc, my best friend who was 25 weeks pregnant lots her baby and the Doc says she had an infection in her womb? Can this go without detection from the gyena? How can one be tested? What causes the infection? I am worried as i am 27 weeks pregnant and don' t want anything to happen to my baby.
Womb infections can be subclinical, i.e. there are no signs to show that it is there.
Often these are due to bacteria in the vagina wh9hc some women carry, whihc move up to the womb.
This can be picked up with a vaginal swab.
Best wishes
