Broken knee cap
Hi. I have recently broken my knee cap. The bone broke horizontally in the middle. I have had an operation and the dr put pins and wire in the knee cap. My question to you is weather or not I will make a full recovery and what steps I can take to make my recovery as speedy as possible as well as the do' s and dont' s.

Ps: I have developed this numbness in my left hands pinky finger- do you think there could be any relation whatsoever to the injury?

Hi Danny
The knee cap should not take too long to heal and your doctor should be able to tell you what to do and not- take it easy for about 4-6 weeks and try not to do too much heavy impact exercise in the meantime. Ensure a healthy diet with enough protein and vegetables to speed up healing.
The numbness in the hand is not related to the injury and could be a compressed nerve in the neck area. If this is bothersome you should have it checked out by a neurosurgeon.
