Dear Prissy
As with any surgery done under anaesthetic there are obviously risks involved. Also the risk of infection post-operatively. Please discuss these with your doctor. He will know best as he knows what medications you use and how well the Lupus is under control etc. Knee replacement operations are generally extremely successful and your quality of life should improve dramatically after the operation. You need to consider this, but remeber the decision is yours and if you are still not satisfied with the answers given, get a second opinion.
