Osteo arthritis
I suffer from osteo arthritis in my feet and am aware that I must continue exercising, I believe stretching is good for this condition. At my gym I do a lot of jumping on both feet. I would like to know if this is harmfull or beneficial?

Dear Jean
Exercise is good for most things, but high-impact exercise may be more harmful than beneficial. You can get as good a cardio-vascular workout by doing low-impact exercises and using the arms. Even jumping around on a Pilates ball is good! Find out whether your gym has low-impact classes You can also consult a physiotherapist once or twice whocan give you the most appropriate exercises. When you are sitting, rotate the ankles and try and mobilise the smaller foot joints to keep them supple.
