Dear Sir / Madam, Would you please inform for SSNHL, the Prednizolone is effective of injection metil prednizolone to the ear ?
can BETASERC reduce tinnitus ?
Hi there Peter
Prednisone is a well-known option to treat SSNHL and has good outcomes if it is being administered within 72 hours of the sudden hearing loss. In terms of injections I would recommend that you consult with an ENT to discuss the dosage etc.
Tinnitus is usually the symptom and not the cause of a disease, and if the tinnitus is a result of the SSNHL then no, Serc wont assist as it wont improve the hearing, and the tinnitus is the result of the hearing damage. Again, I would recommend consulting with an ENT in conjunction with an audiologist, as all the outcomes and results are dependent on the actual hearing loss and what is happening in the ear.
