5day Fever
My daughter developed a Fever on Thurs. evening of 39.7, and I finally managed to bring it down to 37.6, although it managed to spike up again to 39.8 on Sat. evening, through fever reducing medication and tepid baths I managed to get it down to 37.6 again, and this continued for 5days, and she had no other symptoms of illness, except her body felt a bit 'stiff' (she's 5 so that was her description) on the first day. I went to the GP on the Friday, and was told it was probably Flu, but because there are no other symptoms I don't think it was. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this with their child recently?
This high fever is not due to flu. It is essential to make sure that she does not have a urinary tract infection especially in a girl of her age-so her urine must be tested for this. Please go back to your doctor or if necessary get a second opinion.
