71/2 mnth unable to eat solids allergic?
Hi I am a very worried 1st time parent I have a 7.5 month old daughter who suffers stomache pains, loose mucousy stools and is very unsettled after eating any solid foods including panadol. We have tryed a range of foods (rice, pear ,bananna, pumkin sweet potaoe, avocardo )in very small amounts eg:1-2 teaspoons but it all seems to cause tummy pain 1.5 - 2 hour after eating.
She was considered a colicy baby for the 1st 3 months she was breastfed when she still continued to be very unsettled and had watery diarrhoea I tryed many breastfeeding diets the only thing that improved her a bit was removing dairy from my diet. at 4 months she was put on neocate formular which she improved dramatically on. She is currently 7.5 months old and only having neocate and 15 mg of losec (silent reflux also).
She also suffers from a very stuffy congested and itchy nose.
She has a referal to a allergist but it is a 8 week waiting list. She regularly sees a peaditrician but he dosnt seem to have any answers or suggestions.
I dont know what to do, any suggestions would be great she has seen a range of doctors but no one seems to be able to help.

Of course the answer to your problem is to see a paediatric allergist. Your baby seems to have definite food allergies, certainly to cow's milk. She also has other allergic symptoms. Are you certain that you are not giving her any dairy such as yoghurt or cereals containg milk such as Cerelac? Also she must have dairy free baby foods. It seems extraordinary that you have to wait for 8 weeks to see an allergist. Let me know your nearest city and I will try to recommend someone who will see your baby sooner.
