allergic reaction
I have an 11 year old daughter and we have just moved from the Eastern Cape to Limpopo province. In the last 5 months she has had a very bad case of chicken pox and last month a slight doze of mumps. we have got a problem at present with misquitoes in the area. recently she has what looks like mosquito bites on her legs and arms but it seems too many bites to be mosquito's. i am assuming it could be some sort of allergic reaction. how do i know if it is mosquito bites or if she is allergic to something? she complains that they are itchy at times as well. it has been extremly hot here recentlly as well.

what can i use for the bite marks, if they are bite marks?

This is probably an allergic reaction to mosquto bites know as papular urticaria. Sometimes a single bite resuts in multiple raised and itchy bumps on the skin especially on the legs, lower back and abdomen. The hands and arms are also commonly affected. This condition is difficult to treat. The best way is to avoid getting bitten which I am sure you are well aware of already.A daily dose of vitamin B complex syrup is useful in preventing bites but takes a long time to start working. Ask your pharmacist for an antihistamine syrup such as Aterax . This is given at bedtime. Apply a calamine and antihistamine cream-again ask your pharmacist, The problem will lessen with time as she gets used to the mosqutio bites in your new surroundings.
