Baby allergy?
Hello
I am unsure what to do, when my son was about 3 months old he has brownish mucus in his stool - i took him to the paed for a routine check up and mentioned this to him - he was not phased by it and said that is was probably a bit of mucus colitis or something to that effect.
2 weeks later he developed a cold and again had the mucus - my GP had tests done on the stool and they came back clear ( mucus lasted about 10 days) He is on 4 feeds of breastmilk and 2 to 3 feeds of formula a day. I started on NAN1 Ha and was told by the nurse at the clinic that this could be the reason for the mucus. I then swopped to lactogen as per her advice. He has started again with the mucus in his stool - been about 3 weeks now. I told my midwife and she says i should try Isomil which is non dairy based - that he may be allergic to the dairy.
Is this something i should be concerned about and have his stool tested again?
He seems very happy and laughing etc putting on weight etc.
