Hi Professor,
Do you know of any evidence that living near an electricity sub-station can cause any of the childhood cancers? We are interested in a house that has a sub-station about 30m from the outside fence.

The subject of electromagnetic radiation and its effect on human health is the subject of much debate. Reading the internet on the subject can be quite scary, but the opinion seems to be that there is no real evidence that living close to a substation is harmgful.Apparently the electromagnetic radiation from a substation is relatively low and is not comparable to the effects of living close to or underneath overhead high tension power lines.
