I am 28 weeks pregnant and both me and my 3 yr old have a persistent phlemmy cough for about a month now. We are not sick (no fever, runny nose or anything else), just this cough. My 3 yr old starts coughing when she runs or when she goes to sleep. What can I give her? Most of the time I give her something to just stop her coughing during the night. My cough sounds as if I smoke 10 a day and I cough up pieces of phlem.

Both of you have got reactive or inflammatory airways diesease as a result of the recent viral infection. It is probably necessary to use a short acting bronchodilator such as Ventolin by inhalation for a short period, but both of you should first be seen by a doctor.
