Daily Meal Intake - 13 month old
Hello
My little one has an amazing appetite for which I am extremely grateful but he still has between two and three 225ml bottles of Nido after bedtime before breakfast. The sisters always lecture me at his well-baby visits that he should be sleeping through and I must go cold turkey to get him out of the habit but he genuinely seems to be hungry.
I try to add 'filling' food to his meals at night like pasta or potatoes but it doesn't seem to be be helping. Even if he has a big bowl of porridge for supper he still wants milk during the night.
He is a very energetic child and doesn't stop, especially now that he is walking, so I know he must be burning energy as soon as it comes in.
All in all he only drinks between 900ml and 1125 ml of Nido a day.
Can I continue to give him the bottles at night or is there something I should change in his diet so help him sleep through and not get hungry till breakfast.
Example of Daily Meal Plan:
Breakfast: cereal
Snack: 225ml bottle of Nido
Lunch: cooked meal with chicken/mince/fish and fresh vegetables
Snack: jar of purity fruit 200ml
Dinner: cooked meal with chicken/beef and vegetables/pasta or purity 200ml, fruity yogurt, fresh fruit and a generous handful of otees
He also occasionally has a boudoir biscuit as a treat in the afternoon.
Bedtime: 225ml bottle of Nido
Thank you

Both you and your son are quite happy with his present feeding arrangement, it is only the clinic nurse who is not. He is getting on well and for the present is not happy to stop his night time feed. So carry on and with time he will forget about waking up for this feed and the whole 'problem' will have gone away.
