Deworming
What is deworming in children and how is done? is it safe on 9 year old? how often should one do this on the child? How do itell my child needs one?
De-worming is done to get rid of worms that children may be carring in their intestines. This is more important in young children who play in sand where animals such an dogs and cats may have been around.De-worming medicine is usually given every 6 months. if necessary and again mainly for pre-school children. You can safely give your 9 year old a course of Vermox tablets, one tablet twice daily for 3 days or a single dose of Albendazole. Speak to your pharmacist. If your child does not pass any worms it will not be necessary to repeat the dose.
