eczema
can soya make eczema worse?
my son is allergic to milk, so I bought him soya yoghurt, he ate it every day for the whole of last week, but now I have noticed that the eczema is getting worse, and he is scratching himself alot. I was thinking that maybe is the weather as it is hot now. I saw another posting saying that soya makes eczema worse. At the moment he is using Epizone E to bath and another one to apply twice a day. It seemed to be working until now. he is also allergic to house dust(14 months)

I hope that you don't think that soya will cause eczema to worsen because this is not the case in most infants with eczema, in fact most improve when taken off milk and dairy products and are put onto soya instead. Heat is the worst thing for children with eczema, so it is important to keep him cool and dress him only in cotton clothing and pyjamas.Cut out all labels on his clothing.Very light bedding is all that is needed and his room should be cool at night. He should be on Cetirizine syrup 2.5ml at night to stop the itch and use Epimax as moisturiser.
