Fever
Hi Doc
since my posting on 30.8 the one twin developed a fever. Took her to gp as our paed is out of town he prescribed empaped and fever went down only to rise again, he then gave some ibuprofen but said that since there is no apparent reason for fever perhaps we should have lumber punch done. Isnt this a bit on the extreme side. Her fever has gone down since taking ibuprofen

These medicines only deal with the fever, they do nothing for the cause of the fever. The cause must be an infection either due to a virus or a bacterial cause, although the latter is unlikely. What you need is a diagnosis especially as the fever is persisting. If your paediatrician is unavailable surely he/she should have someone who looks after his/her patients.
