Inflanaze and Allecet
Good day,
My three monh two weeks daughter has been having a congested nose , a skin rash and ear infection for a while now. We visited a Ped who prescribed inflanaze nasal spray, Allecet syrup for the rash and Aurone forte ear drops for the ear. I kindly needed some clarification as to whether any of these medications may be too strong for a three month old. Thanks

Inflanaze is a cortisone nasal spray that is used to treat nasal allergy in adults and children. It is not recommendeded for a 3 month baby and it is unlikely that your baby has an nasal allergy at such a young age. Allecet syrup is a generic of Zyrtec syrup a well known antihistamine. It can be given to young babies but is again usually used for nasal allergy.I would not recommend using Aurone ear drops in such a young baby either. It seems to me that you baby has a virus infection. Allergy is not a likely cause of her illness. It would be safest just to use saline nose drops such as Salex drops twice daily in her nose. Also get an infant nasal nasal aspirator such as Nosefrida from your pharmacy to help to clear the mucous out of her nose.
