my q wasn't answered..
Hi, my question wasn't answered by you for some reason so I am posting it again:
Morning, my 6.5 month old seems to have a bad cold. His eyes are all bunged up with yellow goo, his nose is running with thickish white/yellow snot, he has a mild fever. I am giving him saline spray and calpol. Should I just go on like this? He is more irritable than normal. He is waking up at night as his nose is blocked, and I am using a humidifier. His appetite still seems okay though.
thanks

He has a severe cold which is, as you know ,due to a virus infection and he should be better in 5 to 7 days. In the meantime the main problem is his blocked nose. Saline nose drops or spray 3 times a day is essential. Clean his eyes with a dilute salt water solution twice daily-one quarter teaspoonful salt in a cup of boiled and cooled water . Use a clean piece of cottonwool for each eye.
