I wld appreciate the paedi's response to this and also welcome other tips from other parents. How do i start night time toilet training with my 3 yr old? she is 100 % dry in the daytime for almost 8 months now. I delayed the nightime cause i heard it takes longer and it was Winter. How and where do i start this proces? she has been wearing pull ups at night but surely i need to switch to panties. How do i avoid the mistakes, bed wetting, do i wake her every 2 hrs - i am lost on where to start, day time was a breeze though and she is a FAST learner so i know we will get there just how? also how long will it take approx?

She seems to be ready for this but don't rush things and have lots of patience. Remember the old saying:' No child in high school is still wearing nappies', so your child will get it right before then. Explain to her what you want her to do which is to go through the night without wetting herself or to wake you up at night to go with her to the bathroom. Let her wear trainers in the meantime. If she is nervous of the dark put nightlights in her room and on the way to the bathroom. If she can understand about the various days and time, you can agree that on a certain day she will go to bed wearing her pants and not the trainers any more.Reward her if she keeps dry through the night or wakes up to go to the bathroom by praising her achievement.
