running nose
Hi I have a 6year old son who has a permanent running nose. We have taken him for allergy test- it came out clear. He started useing Zertec at night at first it helped, but not anymore. The paediatrician advised us that it will go away with time. This has been going on for the last 3 years since he had grommeds put in & his tounsels removed. Any advise?
No child should have a permanently running nose without the cause for this being established. What is required here is a definite diagnosis. It appears that his problem is not due to nasal allergy which leaves very few other possible causes in children. I suggest that your son be seen again by an ENT specialist in an attempt to find out what is causing this problem eg enlarged adenoids, sinus infection etc.
