Should a parent circumcise their son ?
Can you help ? very confused with all the pros and cons of this very sensitive issue. Many say no as there is no valid reason and others will tell you circumcising provides lifelong medical benefits. Which is it ? I am of the opinion apart from the pain this procedure causes as our doctor has told us there is no anesthesia given, there is no lasting value to do it.
My husband feels strongly because he was circumcised his son should as well an argument I beleive is not valid. I say let our son decide for himself. What I ask of you is is circumcsion the correct way to go and not causing unnecessary trauma and pain for the infant for no reason at all ? Sounds very barbaric ?

There are few possible medical benefits derived from circumcision, but none of these are maintained under normal hygeinic circumstances and using standard safe sexual practices. It is important to act in the best interest of your son, taking the WHOLE picture into account.
