What is Purata? I have heard that it is a relatively cheap Anti Depressant?

Purata is not an anti-depressant. It is commonly used for the short-term management and relief of anxiety. Although it is cheap, you still need a doctor to prescribe you Purata. Reason therefore is that Purata (and related drugs) can be habit forming if you use it for long periods of time; can not be used with certain other medications like anti-depressants, anti-convulsants et. and certain chronic diseases without consulting your doctor.
There are anti-depressants available on prescription that is quite safe to use. The prices vary from very expensive to cheaper generic products.
Please remember that prescription drugs are only intended for the patient the doctor prescribed it to.
