probiotics if gallbladder is removed?
My gallbladder is removed a few years ago and I have problems with my digestive system. Will probiotics help me? If so what is the best source of probiotics?
Thanks
Thanks
Hi Alida
Firstly, it is quite safe to use a probiotic eve though your gall bladder has been removed.
You are not specific about your problem but in general it is a fact that a probiotic will restore and build your normal gut flora and in so doing protect you from digestive upsets.
I normally recommend Reuteri because:
1. It is proven to be safe
2. It has been thoroughly tested and is scientifically proven to confer health benefits
3. It is convenient as the dose is only 1 a day (available a lemon-lime chew tablet).
Available at most leading pharmacies, would love some feedback!
