Can myopia affect strabismus?
When I was about 3, i got high fever and that caused strabismus (exotropia). It's what my parents said (i think there are also genetic reasons as i can see in my relatives). I also had a surgery but it wasn't that successful and the symptoms came back again. And when i was 12 i realized that I can't see far objects well, and since then i am wearing glasses for myopia. Now i'm 17 and if I look at someone close to me, they won't realize i have strabismus, but the farther they get, the more difficult it gets for me to focus on their face; and thus my left eye slowly moves left. That also happens when I take off my glasses. Does it mean strabismus is affected by myopia? And if I treat myopia, can my strabismus get better? I would really appreciate it if you could help me. I'm not a native English speaker and I just hope i could express what i meant. I can give you more details if you want. Thanks!
