Chronic pain....
I come from a long line of women who all had chronic bone loss. I have always tried to have a high daily calcium intake. A few years ago I developed ulcers and have used P.P.I. med's (Topzole) 40mg daily for about 5 years now due to hyper acidity issues. I tried to gradually cut back and developed the most horrific bone pain. Legs, arms, back, shoulders, knee's (can constantly feel fluid running from my knee's into my calf) Have a constantly fluctuating Bakers Cyst in my left calf. I have done some research on the internet and am distressed to see that what I describe is often a side effect of having been on acid suppressing medicines for such a long time. I lost my job and medical aid two years ago and am now a JHB Gen patient but no one there seems to think that my bone pain is caused by the P.P.I. pills and they now have me on Tramadol pills for the pain and I have to go to physio once a month (I struggle to take these pain pills as they hurt my stomach.) No tests of any kind have been done on me. Only X-rays which showed bone loss in my back, knees and right hip. Please help! I am in SO much chronic pain daily. I can barely still walk and am as stiff as a board. I will greatly appreciate any feedback from you.
