Weight Training and Suspected Hiatal Hernia
Hi Doc, Last time I trained was last Friday (heavy lower body day). On Sunday, I flipped the mattress on the bed. On Monday, I woke up with this pressure / pain in my upper right abdomen. It persisted the whole day and presented with persistent belching (and the odd reflux into my mouth). At first I was concerned about a potential gallstone, but being low-risk (28 year old healthy male), no signs of jaundicing, odd coloured stools or urine and not any worse after eating, no loss of appetite or nausea, and following further research, I consider it more likely to be a hiatal hernia. That being said, I've been taking myprodols since yesterday, (along with Bevispas, Apple Juice and Roznal when I still suspected Gallstone / GERD). I'm going to give it a few days to resolve with anti-inflammatories, however, my concerns are that this brings to an end 6 years of weight training (which I love). Is there a recommended routine that I can still perform to stay in shape but without exacerbating the hernia? Your advise would be much appreciated
