What is considered HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE? 22 weeks pregnant.
Hi there, I am 22 weeks pregnant. I started seeing black spots last night before I fell asleep. This morning I felt very dizzy, felt nauseas, started breaking out in sweats and also felt very hot. I felt like I was about to faint. My cheeks went red and glowed. Got to work, sat down and felt a bit better. This was at 8am. I went to the pharmacy at lunch time (12pm) and got my blood level tested, it was 154/82. The pharmacists suggested that I go to hospital as apparently that's too high. I called my midwife (same level as a GP) and she suggested that I am okay and should just go home and rest. I am 26 yrs. old, normal weight and this is my first pregnancy. I have never suffered with high blood pressure before. My mom seems to think that I have to rush to the hospital but I do feel a bit better. I’m sure she’s just worried. My mom was hospitalized with all 4 her pregnancies due to high blood pressure so there is a family history I guess. Can I please get a second opinion? I need to know if I should be worried or just take it easy. How high should it be before I go to the emergency room? I don’t want to step on my midwife’s toes by going to the hospital after she said to just rest. Also dont want to seem over dramatic but obviously baby is the main concern here. I do feel better than this morning and I can feel my little girl moving around in there. Thank yuo Landi
