A POEM I WROTE ONCE UPON A TIME...
On New Year's Eve, 2000 - I had an epipheny about my life and wrote this poem.

B L I N D
"When one does not see what one does not see, one does not even see that one is blind" Paul Verne

In this New Year
I shed my fears
I caste my tears
I say:
Bring in the positive energy
Give me some happy melody
Let my body and soul move with time
And my spirit resonate with this rhyme

This rhyme I find in my mind
It remends me of a time
when..
With the freedom of a child
I let myself run wild
Did not understand the word mild
Lived only for that crazy abandoned ride
Which allows me to now confide...

I had chosen the path of least resistance
Followed it manically with concentrated persistance
Allowed it to lead me without any assistance
Mapped out my destiny with no concept of distance
And now in this instance...

I caste my eyes back
I look at that long, dark, rocky track
I feel that cold, gusty wind on my back
Pushing me further and further into that cold, unwelcome 'crack'

But I feel elated
Heart no longer palpitating
Breath no longer dissipating
Whilst my spirit watched - evaporating
Because the storm is now abating

So...
In this New Year
I shed my fears
I caste my tears
I say
Bring in the positive energy
Give me some happy melody
Let my body and soul move with time
And my spirit resonate with this rhyme

Because I am no longer B L I N D
