Bowl trouble!
brief summary:

for several years now I've been having severe constipation.
I drink loads of apple juice, liquids, roughage in my diet etc..

Doc recommeneded dufalac (softens the stoel), I'm trying to stay away from Laxitives, coz your system gets too dependant on it long term.

apparently I have a long bowl (anybody actually been on surgery to correct this?) any other suggests from CD.. is it all really diet or could a long slow bowl be corrected sumhow?

any advice would be much appreciated...

Dear sumbody
Lactulose or duphalac is not a laxative - it draws water into the bowel and softens the stool - will have no dependancy side effects. Rather not operate on the bowel unless it is really the last option as this can trigger irritable bowel syndrome. Try Aim's herbal fibre blend and rather use soluble fibre than physical roughage.
