breastfeeding and diet
isn't safe to diet while you breastfeeding. if no can you help with a program that i can follow because i gain too much wheight during pregnancy. thankyou
Dear Mina
You can use an energy-reduced, low-fat, high-fibre diet (click on 'Diet' at the top of this page, 'Weight loss' , ‘The right approach' and then on 'Slimming Diet' for a copy of such a diet), but you must add 2 cups of fat-free milk or 1 cup of fat-free yoghurt or cottage cheese to the diet to ensure that you and your baby obtain sufficient calcium. Don't use any diet that has a very low energy content or do exercises that are too drastic because this could dry up your milk and breastfeeding is the most precious gift you can give your child. To increase your energy output you can take baby for walks in the fresh air.
Best regards
