Dear Dee
Not really. Most spirits like whiskey contain approx. 1044 kJ per 100ml, while wines contain 298 kJ/100 ml, but of course most people drink much lager quantities of wine than of whiskey. Generally speaking all pure alcohol contains 29 kJ/gram. Whiskey is regarded as a relatively pure spirit which is why it is often recommended instead of other alcoholic drinks.
