chocolate and cats
I would like to know why it is said that chocolate is toxic to cats. what is the reason for this, what does it do to them?

It is true that chocolate can be toxic to both cats and dogs. It does depend on the amount of chocolate though, as well as the type of chocolate. Generally speaking, dark chocolate and cooking chocolate is more poisonous. Animals do need to eat a significant amount however, before signs of toxicity will be seen. This amount will differ between different types of chocolates. Signs of toxicity will include anxiety and seizures. Luckily, this form of toxicity is seldom seen.
