Cystitus in males
Hi CyberDoc
The term honey moon cystitis came up the other day , is it possible for males to get cystits or what appears to be cystitis (aka temporary burning sensation when urinating) from prolonged sessions of intercourse? If so how is this caused? As far as i understand cystitis is some form of bladder infection isn't it?
Many thanks

Bonky, cystitis is another name for bladder infection. Honeymoon cystitis is a term used to describe the cystitis a woman gets after having intercourse for the first time. The mechanism of intercourse may move bacteria into the urethra and even the bladder, and this may then lead to cystitis. Of course this is not limited to women who are on honeymoon, some women develop cystitis every time they have intercourse. Hope this answered your question. Good luck.
