Early Pregnancy and Thrush
Dear Doc

I am 4 and a half weeks pregnant (blood tests showed positive on 8 Aug) and have thrush like symptoms (white thick discharge and itching sometimes. I also experience a burning sensation when I pass urine). This started a week ago. I haven' t seen my gynie since we were advised to wait until 7 weeks before we go for the first visit. Can I use something in the meantime? I saw you referred to Canesten in your archive articles. Will that be safe to use and is it available over the counter? I wanted to buy A-Por viginal cream today but the pharmacist did not want to sell it to me when he heared I was pregnant.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.
Regards,

You can use Canesten cream in pregnancy.
