Dr, I am 66 years old with normal erections during the night,
regular hard " morning glory" . The erections last while lying down
but as soon as i get up to pee, it softens. Is there something wrong with the bloodflow(valves)and what is there to do about it( is the use of a -|- ring advisable. Can a torn frenulum(many years back
be the reason?)Relative active and heltrhy B/P only genuine problem
Medication NORVASC 5 Micardis 40 and BILICOR 10- BPWELL CONTROLLED.

Dear Phillip
All that you describe is normal. To urinate one needs to have relaxation of the sphincter of the bladder and therefore the penis has relax also to allow flow of the urine through the penis . if you are having good erections during sex and are able to have satisfactory intercourse then you have no difficulty If not then assistance with medication will help as Erectile dysfunction occurs in men with hypertension even if it is controlled
