Feeding Schedule for a 2month old baby
HI

My son is 11 weeks and i returned to work, i tried to put him on a schedule but could not he keeps his times

according to the formal instructions he is supposed to have 5 feeds of 150ml per feed a daywhich is every 4 and half hours.

my son is breastfeeding mainly

Pls tell me is this schedule is realistic

05H30 - 06H00 Breast feed for about 30 munites

08H30 - 09H00 NAN formula feed 150ml

12H30 - 13H00 Expressed breast milk 150ml

15H30 - 16H00 Expressed breastmilk 100ml

18h00 - 18h30 Breast feed

21h00 - 21h30 Breastfeed

the reason i give 100ml that i want to breast feed immediately when i get home to be close to my son and also since i do not express at work because there is no fridge.
How much in milliliters is 30 minutes of breastfeeds since he seems to get hungry more often when he breast feeds unlike when he takes the breast milk from the bottle

Rufi, it’s difficult to determine how much milk he gets when he breastfeeds, but if you leave him to drink until he’s full, he should be OK. It’s a bit of a long stretch from 21h30 to 05h30, but if he doesn’t wake up during the night because he’s hungry/thirsty you don’t have to worry.
Your son’s fluid requirement is approximately 150-180ml/kg/day so if your son weighs about 5.5kg he should get 825-990ml of milk per day. Hope this answered your question. Good luck.
