Forgiveness: Why?
Why do we ask for forgiveness? Is it because we are sorry and care about the other person, or is it because we are selfish and want to be rid of our guilt?

Sometimes people ask for forgiveness because they just want to be let off the hook ; other times because they genuinely regret what they did, and want the person they hurt to be able to feel better.
I think what went terribly wrong in the whole TRC process, was the way the sanctimonious prigs who had nothing themselves to forgive, tried to make it seem as if every victim of any deed, nomatyter how appalling, had a duty to forgive and cudle the person who hurt them.
