I presume you are talking about toluene? This is a chemical that is usually found in crude oil and many other solvents. Inhalation of fumes containing toluene over a long time, can cause irreversible brain damage. It is also not water soluble which means that the body needs to metabolise it instead of just excreting it in urine.
I have not seen a mention of gout in the literature. High purine foods like meat, seafood, yeast, alcohol etc. can precipitate a gout attack.
