heart palpitations
My mom is 47 years old. She experiences heart palpitations - for no apparent reason her heart just starts beating very rapidly - it lasts about 10 minutes and often occurs at night ,waking her up. The next day she is very tired. If she takes an urbanol then the heart regulates. She does not experience ay pain chest or otherwise with this and has no history of heart disease except for these palpitations. She has had them 2-4 times a month now for the last 2 years. She has been to the doctor who said nothing seems amiss except for a small irregularity on her ekg that was not even serious enough to warrant treatment - this was about a year ago.
What can this possibly be ?

B, it might all be due to anxiety (that would explain why the Urbanol®, a “stress pill”, works), but there might be a problem with her heart too. The best would be to have her see a cardiologist just to make sure. Good luck.
