Hi im 17yrs old i recently did my cd4 count but i don' t understand they say percantage is 23.9 and absolute cd4 cell is 468 what does that mean i would ask the HIV PEER forum but there is no experts there

Normal CD4 is usually 500-1500 cells per ml blood
Normal CD4 Percentage is usually > 40
They use these numbers to determine whether your immunity system is working ok and if you are HIV positive, whether you need to go onto Antiviral medication. They usually start HIV (antiviral) medication if the CD4 count drops to below 200
