i need to know what can happen to a man if he left a std untreated for many years especially when he had no symtoms. could he be carrying the hpv.

Yes, many men are unaware of a STD infections but this does not mean that they are not carrying a STD that can be transmitted. It is very possible that he could be carrying the HPV virus but remember that there is an innoculation to prevent HPV infection in women and therefore, reduces the chances of cervical cancer.
