Hormone treatment options?
I am 32. I had a Hysterectomy in 2005 (had non-stop bleeding 3 months after C-section) - I still have both ovaries, but Gynae did Hormone implants (3x Estrogen and 1x Testosterone) and again 3 months later did implants. In 2006 I had a Gall bladder removal (6 stones) and my Hormone level was about 1014 at some stage! so I did not use any HRT until recently.

In the past 4 months I have gained about 10kg, all around my hips and chest area! And I am chronically fatigued. GP diagnosed that I have low hormones and prescribed Anqelique (did not do bloodtest), but then I went to Gynae, who did bloodtests and total hormones: 174. Gynae did Hormone implants again. 2x Estrogen and 1x Testosterone.

I have a heart problem: high Family-cholestorol (latest 6,9) Mitral valve regurg and ASA (Atrial Septal Aneurysm) and a problem with periodic arrhythmia – did Ablation in Nov. 2007, but sometimes still get PSVT and irregular heartbeat.

What is the best advice Doc can give me? I am trying my best to loose weight, started to do Aerobics, Steps, Joga, Body conditioning, but still I am GAINING weight.

I am scheduled for another Hormone implant 29/01/2008, but would like Doc’s opinion first.

I am not sure why you are having the hormone implants if you still have ovaries, especially every 3 months. The usual interval is 6 months. I would suggest that you have your hormones (FSH and LH checked) 6 months after the last implant. If they are normal, you should not have the implants.

Best wishes
