I wrote an article on this subject awhile ago which you may be able to access by browsing on the 'Diet' site. Basically humans need between 2 and 3 litres of LIQUID (not water only) a day. This includes tea, coffee, milk, cold drinks, fruit juice, beer, etc. If you count up all the LIQUID you drink on a daily basis and subtract that from about 2,5 litres you will know how much additional water you require, e.g. all other liquids ingested per day = 2 litres, thus you would need about 2 additional glasses of 250 ml each of water each day. It is not advisable to drink gallons of water over and above the other liquids you ingest anyway as this can dilute important minerals in the body.
