Hypoplastic
I had xrays taken of my duahter who is 14 months. and the result was that he left side of her ribs are hypoplastic. please can you explain what it means
Deon, it means that they’re underdeveloped, but at this stage it’s a wait and see situation as it can clear up by itself. The best would be to take her to a paediatrician to make sure that nothing else’s the matter, and then to have x-rays taken twice a year. If the situation worsens you will have to see a cardio-thoracic surgeon. Good luck.
