Jungle Oats
Can I eat jungle oats as it comes in the box without any cooking at all with no bad effects or is it not recommended?
Is there a difference between jungle oats and rolled oats?
Is there a difference between jungle oats and rolled oats?
Dear Jude
Eating raw oats should not have a detrimental effect on your digestion or health. The original muesli suggested by Dr Bircher (Swiss nutritionist who first described muesli as a healthy breakfast food), many years ago, consisted of raw oats, grated raw apple, nuts and full cream milk or even cream with honey if necessary. 'Jungle' is a brand name, just like 'Bokomo' or 'Kellogg'. You will have to check on the Jungle oats packet to see if the specific oats you eat are rolled or not. The 'rolled' refers to a processing step.
Best regards
